We are a vegetable and berry farm in Claverack, NY, providing food to the Hudson farmers market, various local restaurants, and five food pantries in New York City. We are committed to using growing practices that improve and build the soils we work on, as well as maintaining the health of the surrounding water, air, and ecosystems we work within. All of our fields are managed organically- we never use any chemical pesticides or fertilizers on our farm, and approach soil fertility with natural soil amendments and plant nutrients. Our long term approach to land stewardship supports a balanced whole-farm system using crop rotation, cover cropping, composting, woodland management, and the establishment of nectaries and nesting habitats for beneficial insects, birds, bats, frogs, and other organisms.
This is all happening on our beautiful 60-acre farm along Taghkanic Creek, and we feel so lucky to be the stewards of this fine piece of ground. 2016 will be our 8th season in business together, and our fourth season at this location. We grow a fantastic variety of vegetables and berries, with u-pick opportunities for strawberries (look out for u-pick blueberries in the coming years as well!).
